The Cabinet of Ministers admitted that the disputed tender for the development of the Delfin site did not take place

12.09.2019

We will remind, on July 26, 2019, six members of the interdepartmental commission of the CMU voted "For" the recommendations of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the company Trident Black Sea (90% owned by Trident Acquisitions Corp USA and another 10% by San Leon Energy PLC Ireland) as the winner of the competition for the conclusion of the PSA on the site "Doelfin" of the Black Sea shelf. At the same time, two abstained - deputy Katser-Buchkovska and a representative of the Ministry of Economic Development (by proxy).

Before the announcement of the result, Minister of Energy Ihor Nasalik announced that the main contender for the victory, Caspian Drilling Сompany (Azerbaijan), withdrew its application. He noted that the withdrawal of the application is connected with pressure on Azerbaijan from the russian federation.

The next day, July 27, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced on his Facebook page that he wanted to cancel the PSA tender for the Delfin area. "I suggest to the Government to consider the possibility of announcing a new tender to attract a gas production company on the Ukrainian shelf of the Black Sea," he wrote.
