09.06.2021

The Ukrainian Geological Survey (Derzhgeonadra) in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers issued four more special permits to NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" on the Delfin Block, located on the Black Sea shelf.

The corresponding order No. 412 was published on the department's website on May 31, 2021.

In particular, Naftogaz received permission to use subsoils within the Delfin area - 02, 05, 06, 09 for a period of 30 years, for the purpose of geological study of oil and gas-bearing subsoils, including exploratory and industrial development of deposits, with further extraction of oil and gas on the continental shelf and exclusive (maritime) economic zone.

We will remind you that the previous order (No. 627) of the Ukrainian Geological Survey regarding the granting of special permits to Naftogaz on the Black Sea shelf was published at the end of last year (December 30, 2020). It concerned the implementation of works within 20 separate plots on Skifska Block - 01, 06, 10, 14, 18-22, and Delfin Block - 01, 03, 04, 07, 08, 10-15.

As previously reported, in November of last year, a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to grant a permit for the geological study of the Delfin area on the Black Sea shelf to Naftogaz of Ukraine without an auction. To this end, the Cabinet of Ministers amended Resolution No. 615, Clause 8, which stipulates that only Naftogaz of Ukraine or its subsidiary company (100%) may apply for a special permit without holding an auction.
