Joint actions of law enforcement and regulatory authorities today is an active struggle against illegal extraction of amber in the territory of Zhytomyr. This was during the inter-ministerial meeting in Zhytomyr chairman of the State Forest Resources Agency Alexander Kovalchuk. He noted that the issue of termination of the illegal extraction of amber is on the personal control of the President of Ukraine and Prime Minister of Ukraine.

According to him, there are still cases of illegal extraction of amber: "This I could see in person last week during a working visit to Zhytomyr region. In this regard, I ask the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting, in conjunction with law enforcement authorities promptly take all measures to completely stop illegal activities "black diggers" - said Chairman Goslesagentstvo.
In addition, Alexander Kovalchuk gave instructions to be carried out on the damaged forest lands, in particular, consideration of standing timber, defeated and illiquid timber harvesting and hauling wood, slide and uprooting stumps, garbage timber; preparing the ground for plantations and the like. Goslesagentstvo Chairman also stressed that the need to attract scientists to a detailed study of the problem of overcoming the consequences of the work of amber research and development, measures for forest ecosystems on the reproduction of the damaged areas.
