He hopes that the first well in the shallow water shelf will be drilled at the end of 2023, and in deep water - in 2024-2025.

In addition, Mr. Vityk said that about 40% of research on 3D seismic exploration on the shallow shelf of the Black Sea has already been conducted. The Norwegian company Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) is carrying out these works on behalf of Naftogaz, the total volume of 3D-seismic research to be carried out by this company is 23 thousand square km. The processing and interpretation of data related to the specified geological exploration studies are planned for the end of 2022, and the completion of calculations of all the risks of the ofor project is planned for the end of 2023.

He also emphasized that Naftogaz should work in partnership with international companies that have experience in offshore production in order to achieve results from offshore production. And in order for them to willingly go for this partnership, it is necessary to provide them with high-quality raw materials, that is, the results of research that the company is currently conducting. It will be recalled that yesterday Naftogaz signed memorandums of understanding with Dragon Oil (UAE) and Azerbaijanian SOCAR AQS. Partnerships with these companies are planned precisely within the framework of the development of areas on the Black Sea shelf.

As noted in Naftogaz, Dragon Oil has modern field development technologies that increase production and simultaneously reduce costs. The company works on the Caspian shelf and has invested about $7 billion in its development. Cooperation with SOCAR AQS will technologically strengthen the development of Black Sea areas. The company has its own offshore drilling fleet and has the expertise and technical capabilities to drill in complex areas on dry land.
