Ukraine does not plan to continue to pump gas into underground gas storage
The amount of gas in underground gas storage will be enough for the normal passage of the heating season in Ukraine. This was announced today at the briefing by the head of board NAK "Naftogaz Ukraine" Andrey Kobolev, reports RBC-Ukraine. "We will buy gas in the volume that will be needed. We now have in underground storage 1 billion cubic meters of gas more than there were last year at the same date. Accordingly, this season we are entering a radically higher stock than it was last year, "- said Kobolev.
According to him, at the moment Ukraine imports gas from the Russian and European destinations.
"We do not plan to pump gas until the end of the year. That volume of gas, which is now in our storages, we believe sufficient. We are quite able to pass this winter with this reserve, plus a limited volume of imports from both the Russian and the European side "- said the Kobolev.
He noted, that further gas injection into underground storage facilities is not planned. "We have now started gas extraction. Further injection does not make sense, so we will take from the storage and, if necessary, buy more need for imports," - added Kobolev. According to him, "Naftogaz" before the year is going to buy gas from "Gazprom" at the price established in the IV quarter.
Recall that in early November UGS has accumulated 17.1 billion cubic meters of gas.
